The more things changes, the more they stay the same...

Remember the days when it was only Windows and Apple for your computer option? Then came open source and Linux. Then, in the last 7 years or so, we have seen a boom of technology. From Smartphones, Smartwatches, Fitness trackers, Connected Cars, and finally the Internet of Things. Alot of things have changed over the last couple of decades.

Well, 2 days ago Microsoft announced that their development platform would now be free. It's called Visual Studio Community 2013, and you can now code for all three mobile platforms with the same code base, and if you want to get technical Microsoft's universal code base (Windows 10) is due out next year. This will keep all Microsoft operating systems on the same code base. From servers, desktops, tablets, phones, xbox, and now the new Microsoft (fitness) Band. Plus, I'm sure with a few tweaks, you can have IOS, and Linux running your .Net / C# Program.

So over time things do change, but a strong desire within us, will always crave some cohesive community to keep us grounded. Perhaps that will be the new VS Community. :-)

Perhaps it does not like DFS, anyone have suggestions?
